The Christian Peer and Family Peer Volunteer Certification Training equips individuals with lived experience to provide safe, ethical, and Christ-centered support to those facing mental health challenges. This comprehensive training covers key topics such as communication, crisis response, boundaries, ethics, and how to navigate the mental health system.
Volunteers are trained in how to effectively utilize their lived experience in supporting others, honoring confidentiality, and fostering empowerment and self-advocacy through informed choice. Through interactive sessions and faith-based guidance, our volunteers are fully equipped to serve those in need with both compassion and professionalism.

The Mental Health Support Toolkits are ongoing, topic-specific training modules designed to deepen the skills of Christian Peer and Family Peer Volunteers. Practical toolkit sessions cover topics like trauma-informed care, crisis de-escalation, motivational interviewing, brain health, and navigating mental health systems. We also address caregiver wellness, preventing burnout, and understanding involuntary treatment and insurance options.
The Spiritual Toolkit topics include guidance on using Scripture, relying on the Holy Spirit, supporting LGBTQ+ individuals and families, and responding with grace when someone has been hurt by the church. These trainings help volunteers grow in confidence, compassion, and Christ-centered care.
